Get your home ready for the market

Get your home ready for the market

Here are some top tips to get your home ready for the market

  1. Decorate your home with a fresh coat of paint
Keep the colours neutral and clean. This will give buyers the impression that your home is cared for and well maintained. It will also mean they are less likely to make lower offers as there is less work for them to do when they move in.
  2. Declutter and tidy up
It goes without saying that your home must look its absolute best when potential buyers visit. You want them to imagine living in the space, not focus on why your belongings have been left out everywhere.
  3. Bring out your inner gardener
Mow the lawn, cut back the bushes, remove the weeds. The garden often goes overlooked when preparing a house for sale but it’s usually one of the biggest deciding factors when moving.
  4. Create kerb appeal
Tidy up the entrance path, hide the bins, fix broken gutters, gates and fences. The front of your home is every buyers first impression – you want to make it a good one.
  5. Clean the windows
As much as buyers are going inside to see the property, they might want to look out from within to see what the road and area are like.
